Clinical Uses of Music Therapy in Dementia

Music has demonstrated to have significant effects on the brain even during the late stages of dementia. Founded on the principles of neuroplasticity, there are many ways music can help adults and older adults with dementia. As a psych gerontologist and music therapist, I am driven to be creative in my interventions and provide support in the emotional, social, physical and mental wellbeing of people with dementia.
